Stress Experiment

stress tree Design an experiment that will test the affect of stress on memory. Be creative; you can use people or animals in your design but the experiment needs to be designed so that it can actually be conducted. After approval you and your partner (pick your own partner) will conduct the experiment and write up the results.

Share an Early Memory

memory

Without first discussing it, write out your earliest memory that one of your parents will know about, in as vivid detail as you can. Then go to your parent and read your description. Is it the same as their memory? What do you think might account for the differences? Why do you think you “remembered” this event?

Dreams and Things

We are learning about consciousness of which sleep and dreams are a big part. If you have followed my instructions (and I know you have), you have been keeping a dream log next to your bed and you are writing down your dreams every morning or during the night.  What are you dreaming? Share your dreams with us, but do go a bit further please! We want to know your dreams but we want to know about them too. Do you have an interpretation for your dream? Is there a connection to something that happened on the day you had your dream or to something that is currently a part of your life? Have a look at what others are writing and make comments – who knows, you may have the interpretation of a dream that is just what someone needs.  I am keeping a dream log too and I will be sharing my dream experiences as well! Have fun!

Stage Theories of Human Development

Have a look at the cartoon below.  I know it is a little pessimistic but what do you think?  For many of us this describes the way life goes (in a very narrow, leave lots of details out sort of way).  How do the theories of Piaget and Erikson help us to understand the stages of life depicted so comically yet insightfully in this cartoon?
